Drake discusses growing up on a farm and training to become a teacher, first in country schools and from 1931-1962 at the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse. She details her career as a rural school teacher and her involvement in the university's Campus School's Rural Education Program, for which she served as director. She also describes interaction with students and fellow faculty.
